Taipei 2008: 24 Jul - Day 2 (updated!)

Jiufen 九份

Wiki It:
During the first years of the Qing Dynasty, the village here housed nine families. The village would request "nine portions" every time shipments arrived from town. Hence, the town was named as Jiufen (meaning: nine portions)

Yummy fishballs~
Damn big ones with fillings inside. Hoh high~~

Scenery atop Jiufen, the mountain town.

After our eating and shopping spree, we decided to go back to our hotel first to unload our stuff before heading for the next destination.

The taxi uncle charged us one flat rate which was quite reasonable as Jiufen is pretty far away from Taipei city.
He also offered to detour to an interesting place to do some sight-seeing.
So we went and saw these..

黃金瀑布 Golden Waterfall

陰陽海 Yin Yang Sea

He told us some brief history of the place which i am too lazy to explain :P
Those interested might want to read here.

After unloading our stuff at the hotel, we went to 西門町 Ximending.

It's like the not-so-expensive shopping area in Taipei.
I don't recall buying anything from here though.
I just feel the whole place is DAMN crowded.

After dinner in Ximending, we headed for 五分莆 Wu Fen Pu.

I think some girls might like Wu Fen Pu. (p/s: Lindy, i think you'll go crazy over there.)
It's just shopping shopping and more shopping and it's CHEAP!
Sadly, the style there is too girly for me, so i ended up buying some retro tees.
The tees could have cost me around S$30 in Singapore but i got it at only S$6 :)

And after Wu Fen Pu, we went back to hotel yet again to unload our shopping bags and it was KTV for the rest of the night till 4am :p

This is 好樂迪 Holiday KTV, near Taipei Main Station, i.e. near to our hotel too :)

This branch is not 24 hours but we can actually sing/eat/drink from 11pm to 5am, all for the price of NTD 429 (approx. SGD 19)!!

Supper. Eat and eat cos it's freeflow! :)
