Japan Japan!

Day 1 (28 Nov) - Night flight is a torture!

Took a night flight to Tokyo, departing Singapore at 9.50pm.
We reached the hotel at about 6 plus am, washed up at the lobby toilet (no shower facility) and thereafter started our first day in Tokyo!

After a quick breakfast, we proceeded to our first stop - Meiji Shrine.
It was a nice start as Meiji Shrine is located within a forest and the nice smell of the trees + the cool weather made the long walk very enjoyable.

After Meiji Shrine, we proceeded to Harajuku for shopping.
As a person with very bad stamina for shopping, the tiredness from the lack of sleep started to hit me and I was feeling rather horrible for a few hours and finally at about 3pm I surrendered and went back to Shinjuku to check-in to the hotel and napped for a good four hours.

That basically sums up my first day in Tokyo - nice Meiji Shrine visit & horrible shopping experience due to lack of sleep :x

Day 2 (29 Nov) - Finally i get to see Mt Fuji :)

Day 2 is Hakone day.

We started our day early as we need to travel to Hakone and we need to finish our Hakone day-trip before sunset which will be about 4pm.

And I finally get to see Mt Fuji - the real thing!
After seeing it on so many Japanese drama and recently in this music video.
But because we were at Hakone, the view of Mt Fuji is not as big and magnificent as what is on TV but that's already satisfying enough for me, a first-time Japan visitor :)

We also went to Gora Park and Hakone Open-Air museum.
There was a Picasso museum exhibit going on and although we can't take pictures inside the Picasso art museum, we camwhored a lot out in the open air. Nice place :)

And thereafter, we proceeded to Gotemba for premium outlet shopping where i only managed to get a pair of gloves from GAP after almost 2 hours of shopping. Damn lousy shopper :x

Before we end the day, we took a walk around Shinjuku red-light district.
The other time i took a walk at a red-light district was at Phuket and the difference between the two is that Phuket is a lot more sleazy.

In Phuket, even when you're just outside the bar, you can see girls pole-dancing.
In Tokyo, all the entertainment establishments are behind closed doors and so there's nothing you can see from the outside.

But it was interesting to see pictures of Japanese young guys outside nightclub and surprisingly, there's quite a number of such clubs - must be a really good market.

(Day 3 to 6, to be continued...)
