Before this movie, I kept seeing the books by Stieg Larsson in the bookstores. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.. the title just makes you want to find out what the story is about. Despite my curiosity, the lazy me never got down to reading the book and once again, i'm glad that there are nice good film-makers who'll make it easier & less painful for me to know & understand the story :D
This is like a combination of a darker and moodier story by Agatha Christie spin in some politics and damn sadist sex scenes.. and the female lead in the story - Lisbeth Salander, she's like the Swedish & female version of Death Note's L. But.. L is a lot cuter :p
The actress who took on the role of Lisbeth Salander - Noomi Rapace gave a stunning performance, there's nothing you can criticize about her performance at all. And what's even more scary is that.. her true character actually differs a lot from Lisbeth Salander! If you've watched the movie, watch this interview and be stunned by her again. If you haven't watch the movie, go watch the trailer and decide for yourself if you want to watch this.
There seems to be some stuff that's not answered in this movie, believe the other two stories will probably tie it up. This movie is kinda too dark for me and i can't really appreciate the Nazis portion cos i don't know much about it. Yes, I am not a History person. But anyhow, i'll still catch the other two stories cos i really want to know more about the background of Lisbeth Salander.
Watch this for Lisbeth Salander & Noomi Rapace.
Hollywood will be making their version of this film also.. Honestly, I don't see how Hollywood can get anyone better or on par with Noomi Rapace to act as Lisbeth Salander. We shall see 0.0
p/s: Gin, please don't watch this movie. Too many gruesome images and crazy sex scenes. No good for the baby yea..
