So after coming back from Hongkong and resting + slacking at home for three days, I went to Genting.
This is my second time to Genting and I really don't like that place.
Casinos, theme park and second-hand smoke. So unappealing.
Being there makes me really glad that Singapore has smoking bans in most public places.
And once again, i never step into the casino and theme park in Genting.
We were there all because Penny Tai held a concert in Genting - someone who'll most likely not be able to hold a concert in Singapore. And so, we gotta go all the way to her home country for her concert! Very sickening and tiring but at the end of the day, it was all worth it :)
We spent two full days in Genting.
Could have go on Saturday morning and come back on Sunday noon but cos we didn't want to feel so rush, so we decided to stay for two nights.
And once again i have a bad experience on coach.
I was having diarrhoea after eating chicken rice for lunch at Yong Peng and had to ask the coach to stop for me to go to the toilet. Thank goodness the diarrhoea stopped just before the concert, otherwise i'll not be able to enjoy the concert in peace..
Back to the concert, this is the first time i'm seeing Penny in a live performance. I was pleasantly surprised at her powerful singing, i never expected her to be so good singing live :) It was really good to see her showcasing her artistic talents in the two hours (sing, dance, guitar, piano). She even played the guitar like a gu zheng for one part of her performance! Amazing.
And she did a Malay version of her all-time hit, Meteor Garden's theme song 你要的愛. Only in Malaysia can you see this!
But she's obviously not as experienced when it comes to concerts - the mingling with audience, really got lots of room for improvement. And i thought given her character, she'll have impromptu encores... but she didn't. A little disappointed with that also.
Overall, glad that i went for this concert.
Even though i had to endure the terrible coach ride and suffer a diarrhoea.
It was all worth it for a concert that i've waited 10 years for :)
