Unlike the limitations of what you can do for a concert at Singapore Expo, this time @ SIS - it is serious business :)
If you ask me what i like about the concert, I'll say it's almost everything except the encores.
Unlike the last round of concert where there were six encores and for the final encore, it was totally unplanned. The houselights were on and the audience were still cheering for Cheer to come out.. And so, she did.. She came out, singing the final encore with the houselights on.
The organizers obviously thought that Cheer fans like encores.
Some classic songs were not even sung yet, the elevating cage is so obviously hanging up there and Cheer haven't even got on it yet and you are telling me the concert is coming to an end?
And thereafter, Cheer came on and off the stage for a few times, the lights came on and off just to hype up the audience and this was done repeatedly just to chalk up the six encores to match up to the last concert. Seriously, we don't need such kind of planned encores.
I guess it's because this time round, the concert was done on a bigger scale so the organizers have their own expectations which Cheer and her team would have to make some compromise.
This might be a little imperfection to this concert, but thank goodness everything else were good and hence, this not a big failing factor.
Anyway, Cheer Chen is still so fascinating on stage and like how we don't wish to leave the stadium, she also did her best by putting up an unforgettable 3-hour performance for us.
She don't have power diva vocals but that doesn't stop her from belting out different genre of songs from folk to sentimental to rock and still sounding good in a very unique way.
She can be the girl next door singing simple meaningful songs this moment and a rocker with mean guitar skills next.
And like she's not perfect enough, she's pretty and she did the music and lyrics to almost all her songs.. Tsktsk! How can one person have so many appealing qualities and be so disturbingly good! :P
I want her to come again again again!!
