So on Sat, i went for Singapore Entertainment Awards Celebration Party.
It was held at Marina Bay Floating Platform.
My first time watching a performance there :)
Got the tickets through Kbox.
They have this $60 nett for two pax package which includes a pair of the tickets, so we took the package since the difference is only a few dollars..
Some of the singers who attended:
The cute boy - Derrick Ho
He is really quite cute :)
The very ah-lian Shi Xin Hui.
Her performance was... boring -.-
The very popular newbie #1 - Aska Yang
I don't really fancy his voice but he really can sing man.
The very popular (not-so-new) newbie #2 - Olivia Ong
Who wants to guess what song she sang? No prizes for guessing correctly though :P
The over-hyped Show Luo.
Yes, you heard me right - Over-hyped.
I think the organisers were desperate to show that they managed to get a non-Singaporean superstar to grace the event. And given the fact that there were no other bigger foreign star, Show Luo became the star which they over-hyped about.
Other artistes includes: Energy, JJ Lin, Joi Chua, Lam Fong (TVB Actor) and some other not so well-known local musicians and bands.
And i was actually there for:
Cheer Chen, who was in town to promote her new album and upcoming concert in April. And Stefanie Sun, who was in hibernation mode for more than 2 years.
Cheer Chen - 下個星期去英國 (Go to England Next Week)
Seeing her strum the guitar and hearing her gentle & clean voice against the backdrop of the waters at Marina Bay and IR construction site... One word - Nice :)
Stefanie Sun & Budak Pantai - 橄欖樹 (Olive Tree)
This is one of the local singers joint-collaboration for the night.
Quite a good performance i must say.
For those who don't know about Budak Pantai, they do a capella singing and has been around for very long.
Overall, it was a good show presented.
Great efforts being put in by the organisers.
I love the segments where the local singers collaborated with each other to bring out performances which we'll never expect.
There was one great mistake that the hosts did though.
Minister Teo Ser Luck was the guest of honour for the night.
Towards the end of the night, he was invited to present an award to Show Luo.
After he presented the award to Show Luo, the hosts did not thank him and proceeded to interview Show Luo. Our dear Minister got to quietly walk off the stage while the two stupid hosts (FM 100.3 DJs) interviewed the star.
What a big taboo.. I'm sure they were being screwed for this.
