Leafie's Best of 2008 - Music

And here's the music.

1. Queen 魏如昀 - [傻]

Really a very good album, especially so when she's a newbie.
She wrote 8 of the songs in this album.

She's not a fantastic singer but it's ok, singing can be improved with time.
The one thing i like is - She have the ability to emote her songs very well :)

Here's one of her composition that she sang in the Taiwan competition (超級星光大道), love this song a lot but it's not recorded in this album - If I Could.

2. Sandee 陳珊妮 - [如果有一件事是重要的]

I used to think that she's TOO alternative so i didn't really listen to her.
I have to admit that it's her collaboration with Hebe that made me listen to her music.

I think a lot of people who are reading this now, might not even know her.
But anyway, she's one musician who does things very differently every time.
And it might also be because of that, that i'm only able to listen to her now.
Tried listening to her previous album a few years ago, but it was just not my cuppa tea.

Her songs, really not for the general mass.
You can try this song - 離別曲, which Hebe sang a few sentences.
The original is actually by Chopin - Etude Opus 10 No.3.
I like the way how she can integrate classical music and very nice string instruments into her music, which she deemed as Pop music (which is obviously not very Pop to the general public).

3. Joanna Wang - [Start From Here]

This woman is like 20 but sings and produces music like she's in her 30s.
Raised in the States and her Dad is a famous music producer in Taiwan.

Apparently, she don't really like this album because she felt that it was too commercialized. And she's like regretting that she got into a contract. Very sad huh..

But anyway, this is still a good album.
I've previously put her English songs on my player, so i shall let you all listen to how weird she can sound in Chinese - For No Reason.

4. Tanya 蔡健雅 - [My Space]

I don't think i need to introduce who she is and how much i love her music.
She topped the chart last year remember :)

I think if this is a brand new album, it'll definitely be on top three.
FYI, this is a Live recording of her concert with My Space, consists mainly her old songs with some covers and one new song.

Since this is a live album, here's a video of her performance on Channel U in March 08. The harmonica is shiok! :D

5. Eason 陳奕迅 - [不想放手]

I like the design of this album.
It's being done like it's a storybook, like those children kind you know.
Very creative :)

Back to the music, I like quite a few songs in this album.
There ain't a lot of male singers that i'll listen to but he is one of them that i will.
Here's one encouraging song - 路... 一直都在 for everyone in 2009!

---

Anyway, 2008.. like a lot of my fave singers did not release album.
So it wasn't all fruitful for my ears.
Hopefully i can listen to more music this year :)
