So yesterday, we caught up with the Halloween fever @ Night Safari.
And it's shocking to see how crowded the Night Safari is!
A huge portion of the crowd are young Singaporeans who are there to have a good Halloween time. Some even dressed up for some Halloween fun. Not much tourists in fact, maybe only 10%?
It's actually weird how people are willingly going there to get scared by the ghosts which we'll usually avoid during the Lunar 7th month.. :p
Crowded! We queued close to half an hour to get the tickets!
For Halloween, they included this 15-min trail in the tram ride where they have the 'Chambers of Eternal Torture'.
Message behind it: "Travel through the eerie prison of animal abusers and witness the consequences of people who betray the conservation code."
Not bad an idea huh.. Do bad and you get karma!
Halloween tram with the iconic pumpkin lantern in front.
(p/s: They also have the normal tram for a more family-friendly ride.)
Princess Fiona got my friend all excited.
But too bad, she's not our tram guide :P

Scary gal at the tram station.. She's damn convincing!
With the huge crowd, we waited 45 minutes for the Halloween tram.
And so the first 45 minutes was the usual sighting of the animals in the dark.
This is my first time at the Night Safari and having been to the Singapore Zoo so many times, it's a different experience seeing the animals in the dark.
And all in the Halloween mood, the tram guide spoke in this eerie low-toned voice which half of the time, i couldn't make out what he was trying to say. Not very helpful if you want to know more about the animals you are viewing.

He's our tram guide, but i don't know what he is trying to portray :p
So the last 15 minutes was actually quite fun with all the horrors around.
And it turned out to be quite funny for us.
This bunch of young kids behind us were trying to spot their friends amongst the ghosts.
So when they finally saw this friend who's dressed in white with her hair over her head and carrying a fake baby in her hand, they called out and said: "Meiling! So who's new in your life?!"
And one of the guy offered Meiling a packet of biscuits and at first, Meiling didn't take but when the tram was like getting further away, she suddenly grabbed the packet of biscuits. And thereafter, Meiling even sms to thank them for the biscuits! DAMN HILARIOUS! lol!
After the tram ride, we were just in time to watch the Creatures of the Night Show. The show demonstrates the behaviour and predatory to survival skills of the nocturnal animals which includes otters, raccoons, owls, wolves, hyenas etc..
It was a good show especially with the female presenter who's very good at engaging the visitors.
One scene that touches my heart.. The animal keeper talking to the serval.
And i really think working in the zoo with the animals is not an easy job.
It really requires a lot of patience and love for the animals.
It's a job that deserves all respect :)
