2007 is a crazy year..
If i'm not wrong, i watched 13 movies!
That's an average of about 1 movie a month!
That's a lot for me, Leafie!
So yes, that gives me the right to choose my top 5 movies of the year :p
1) 881 - The costumes, the getais, papaya sisters, liu ling ling.. FANTASTIC! There should really be more of such local movies. And someone should put a stop to movies on striking rich, our government and also our education system....
2) Protege - A movie that must be recognized for its efforts in information research, amazing. Not forgetting the newbie actress in the show - Zhang Jingchu; she's equally amazing.
3) Paprika - Crazy anime depicting how crazy humans can be.. The ideas in the story, the 'dream-reading' machine, the way it is so mind-boggling / stimulating.. Japanese are really crazy film-makers!!
4) Transformers - I thought such movie can only amaze people with CG, but the film injected some 'feelings' in these machines, making it closer to us. There's a reason why it's selling so well and getting good reviews everywhere.
5) The Secret - I really cannot stand Jay Chou's ego now. But this movie is really worth watching. Not exactly a very wow wow storyline, but a lot of small details in the movie were well-handled. That's where it scores.
The rest that i watched but didn't make it to Top 5:
Happy Birthday, The Pursuit of Happyness, Spiderman 3, Spider Lilies, Die Hard 4.0, The Invasion, The Nanny Diaries, Your Name is Justine.
