About Work..

I guess i should do a little update about life at work.
For those who've been reading here regularly, you might remember the "discussion" going on in my tagboard earlier ago about an "important decision" which led to some absurd questions. (thinking about it again makes me wanna laugh. haha!)

So anyway, it was really about work and the gist is that i was actually thinking of moving to another department but somehow, it did not materialize. But it kinda got me thinking of what i really want since i've been working at the same place for 2.5yrs already.

And call it fate or maybe it's just pure coincidence, right after i made the "decision", my big boss talked to me and told me that the conversion is finally going to happen. (p/s: Nobody knew that i was approached by the other dept cos it was rather hush-hush and it was nothing concrete.)

And so, after waiting for some paperwork to be done and last week i finally settled all that has to be done for the conversion and signed on the dotted line.

Actually, the better thing that happened is a change in what i've been doing.
There's a major restructure in my unit and there's gonna be a few new teams and i was given the opportunity to try a relationship role. The biggest difference in the role (compared with what i'm doing now) is - I have to go out to meet clients. This is something that i've never really done before and i don't know how i'll do also. But i'm looking forward to it and i hope to learn as i go along and pick up some good skills which will be beneficial to me :)

And the other better thing which happened is - since it's a new team, means i have a new boss. My new boss is someone i know since i joined but i never expected that she'll ever be my boss. She is also very new to relationship managing although she has been with the bank for 13yrs! *gasps*

Anyone who can stay with the bank for so many years is definitely respectable and I'm actually pretty glad that she's my boss now, cos i've heard a lot of good things about her and i'm looking forward to learn from her. It's been two weeks now and we have little conversations here and there and she's a pretty straight-forward person, very responsible also and very motivating.

But for now, it's still business as usual before i move on to my new role.
Lotsa groundwork that we have to do first and have to see how i can off load what i am doing now also.

Quoting my boss: "Things can only get better."
After being pretty aimless for 2.5yrs, i'm glad that now at least there's a clearer direction and hopefully things will get better :)
