Ellen Paged

I am, or rather i was, Ellen Paged.
Watched two movies of Ellen Page in a single night and the two movies are like two extremes.

Hard Candy is a 2006 independent psychological thriller film focusing on a confrontation between a sexual predator and a 14-year-old girl he attempts to ensnare. Hard Candy was directed by David Slade, written by Brian Nelson, and stars Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page, who rose to fame as the star of the 2007 academy award winning-film, Juno.

The idea for Hard Candy came from a news story on 20/20 producer David W. Higgins saw about young Japanese girls who would lure older businessmen to a location with the promise of meaningful conversation and would assault and mug the men with a gang of other girls once the men arrived. This led him to wonder, "What if the person you expect to be the predator is not who you expect it to be? What if it's the other person?" He then hired writer Brian Nelson to flesh out the idea.

Juno is a 2007 Canadian-American comedy-drama film directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody. Ellen Page stars as the title character, an independent-minded teenager confronting an unplanned pregnancy and the subsequent events that put pressures of adult life onto her. The film premiered on September 8 at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival, receiving a standing ovation.

Hard Candy was really hard to swallow.
It's really a psycho thriller and if this happens in real life, you really wonder what goes through the mind of this screwed up kid. Then again, if there can be screwed up adults 'playing' with kids, there can also be screwed up kids who wants to get back at the adults huh.. Screwed up world!! :S

On the other hand, Juno is really a very nice appealing fim.
The characters are all so cute and funny and nice and hot (Jennifer Garner) and everything in the film is just so good!

The storyline of this film is actually very simple and it's also the very simple meaning behind the movie that touches your heart. And with the amount of work put into the film, Juno really deserves Oscars' recognition :)

I especially like the songs in the movie and thank goodness i happen to mention it randomly and found a colleague who have the soundtrack! It's always good to make small chats with your colleagues! :D
