Revolutionary Road

Frank and April have always seen themselves as special, different, ready and willing to live their lives based on higher ideals. So, as soon as they move into their new house on Revolutionary Road, they proudly declare their independence from the suburban inertia that surrounds them and determine never to be trapped by the social confines of their era.

Yet for all their charm, beauty and irreverence, the Wheelers find themselves becoming exactly what they didnt expect: a good man with a meaningless job whose nerve has gone missing; a less-than-happy homemaker starving for fulfillment and passion; an American family with lost dreams, like any other.

Driven to change their fates, April hatches an audacious plan to start all over again, to leave the comforts of Connecticut behind for the great unknown of Paris. But when the plan is put in motion, each spouse is pushed to extremes one to escape whatever the cost, the other to save all that they have, no matter the compromises.

Some people commented that this movie is very slow.
I really don't find it slow and in fact, rather well-paced, but it's probably just another movie that only serves a portion of people and not everyone.

So my conclusion is: After 15 minutes into the movie, you'll roughly have an idea of whether you'll like it or not. And if you don't, you'll probably be hoping that the movie will end soon but because it is taking forever to end, it seems that the movie is slow.

Anyway, i think this film is extremely thought-provoking, depressing and also disturbing to a certain extent. It is the kind of movie that you'll walk out of the cinema and have endless discussions with your friend(s) on the people and situations and never come to a conclusion.

I am not a fan of Titanic.
I think the storyline is damn corny and i don't like it that they use the disaster incident as a magnifying glass to enlarge the meaning of love. But well, this corny storyline has proved to be a huge success with its fantastic box office sales & it was really very popular back then.

Leonardo and Kate Winslet are really very different in this flim.
No longer the young couple in Titanic, they have matured in all ways and it was good to see a screen couple having so much chemistry.

And this is damn sad but seeing how much they've aged, i start to feel old myself too! Titanic was 12 years ago man! I remember watching it when i was in Sec 4! OLD!! -.-

And yes, Kate Winslet is good.
Another add-on in my list of very limited fave angmoh actors/actresses :P
