Not many of us know what happens at a funeral home before the wake begins. Not many of us probably want to know either. Its painful, its taboo but we cannot help wondering though.
Unexpected Access opens the doors to places which many consider forbidden but are still curious to know more about, like a funeral home, a reconstructive plastic surgery table, a forensics laboratory, and a seemingly harmless-sounding immigration checkpoint.
Join our fearless host Wong Lilin as she removes the mystery, secrecy, sometimes even fear as she takes you into a journey of places in Singapore to find the unexpected, unanticipated and sometimes even the surprisingly familiar.

8 Days say this is Channel 5's version of Dirty Jobs, i didn't watch Dirty Jobs, so i don't know what is it.
Anyway, watched the first episode yesterday - Singapore Funeral Services, where they showed mainly the embalming process of a post-mortem body and also what goes on before a funeral wake.
Lilin watched the entire embalming process.
I must really applaud Lilin for her calmness & being a very professional host.
Although she did turned her head away from the corpse at some parts, but she really did very well in telling the audience at parts where the camera cannot shoot.
At one part, she even asked the man: "What's this?"
The man, who's used to seeing these, replied her plainly: "The brain."
Lilin was like "The BRAIN?!" o.O
By the way, to respect the deceased, the corpse was hardly shown at all but looking at the intestines alone is pukish enough already. -.-
Imagine watching on tv and i already feel like puking watching the intestines & other organs. I don't know how she can watch the entire process and still be able to tell us what is going on. Good Job, Lilin!!
This week, they are going to an abattoir.
Unexpected Access - Every Sunday at 10pm, Channel 5.
