Presenting...

My medication.

I've survived the close to 2 hours extraction surgery + bone grafting! :)

But I'm in pain and terrible discomfort now :(
I'll experience swelling over the next few days.

Think my case is really very very bad..
Heard the doctor telling the assistants that my 'buckle wall' (something like that) is completely gone.

And apparently, the bridge that the lab made, is not a good one due to:

1) The color
It is not the same color as my other teeth.
The rest of my teeth are slightly whiter than the bridged tooth and doctor is not happy with it cos this is the lab's fault.

2) My bad infection
Causing the gum on my affected tooth to slightly recede.

So the impression that i took on the first visit is not accurate anymore.
The dentist asked for the bridge to be made again.
Don't think i'll be charged for this cos he didn't mention.
I'll have to go back on Wed to fix the corrected bridge.

But i'm glad i am through with the extraction and bone grafting part.
A few days of discomfort and pain and i'll have a nicer tooth for four months before doing the implant which should stay with me for life :)

And here's the reality, the $ that i've spent (will be spending) on this tooth:
- Initial Consultation & X-ray: $40
- Root Canal Treatment: $300
- Extraction: $150
- Bone Grafting: $850
- Implant: $2500
- Maryland bridge: Free (but could have cost around $300)
- Medication: $100 (till now)
^ Total: $3940 ^

Money!! >.<

But i was given a very good packaged price.
Not only the implant was charged at a very much lower rate, the Maryland bridge was given to me free also.

Just a brief history of what happened..
I went to Q&M for my initial consultation and root canal treatment.
I have nothing much to say about the dentist who gave me my initial consultation.
But the Root Canal Specialist - Dr Chng is quite a nice lady :)

But Q&M is REALLY very expensive.
If i stayed with them and do the implant, it's gonna cost me close to $6k!
So people, it's always very important to do the necessary research especially when such a huge sum of $ is involved.

And i must say i'm indeed very lucky to have found Dr Steven Ang.
He truly care for his patients and is really a very nice guy :)

And just in case you guys think that i'm providing too much information about my tooth (and like as if you all really care.. Haha!)
My ultimate purpose is really for you guys to start caring more for your teeth.

So... Have you fixed an appointment with your dentist for your checkup already? :p
