Recently, i got hooked on this - NANA.
Caught the movie on VCD and it's very nice lor!!
I dunno if it was screened in Singapore before.
But i remember seeing the movie review somewhere.
Recently, i caught the review again. Think it's video review.
So eventually, i watched the movie. And it started my NANA craze :p

The Story
Komatsu Nana happens to sit next to Osaki Nana in the train to Tokyo.
Komatsu Nana is going to meet her boyfriend,
while Osaki Nana is going to Tokyo to become a musician.
Because they happened to have the same names, soon they become friends.
Though they separated after they reached Tokyo,
they crossed paths again while they were viewing apartments.
Both Nana love apartment 707 and they eventually stayed together.
(p/s: Nana in Jap means 7)
The two of them have very different character.
Osaki Nana is independent and keeps a cool attitude towards everything.
Komatsu Nana is dependent on the people around her, innocent and talkative.

NANA actually started off as a shojo manga 少女漫畫.
Meaning the manga came first, followed by movie and then the anime.
Movie version Nana 2 will be out in Dec 2006.
It's interesting to see how the two very different
Nana connect to each other. They lead vastly different lives
yet the amazing connection between them brings them closer to each other.
The last part of the movie, helpless innocent Nana
helped strong Nana to reunite with her boyfriend, Ren.
I think there's this strong message in the movie that:
No matter how helpless or strong you are.
There will be times that you help people and will need help.
It might be something that everyone of us will know
but when it's being depicted out in the movie, it just touches my heart.
my fave character - Osaki Nana played by Mika Nakashima
So now, i am hooked on the anime but the downloading quite slow -.-
And i think Japanese are one of the best film-makers.
It's amazing how the characters and setting
in the movie and anime are exactly the same!
Next up... NANA manga!!!! :D
